Gamichicoth (Kult)
(From the artist's book "Heroes
& Villains")
By : Deborah Susan Jones : Editor
This painting was created in the artist's
Wimbledon-based London studio in the early 1990s..
According to Wikipedia "Kult is
a contemporary horror role-playing game" originally
designed by Gunilla Jonsson and Michael Petersén, first
published in Sweden by Äventyrsspel in 1991 though also it
is stated that "Target Games" was the first publisher and
certainly this is the company that the Artist created the
work for, in this case, for the Role Play Game Card
spin-off and has reportedly been translated into several
other languages as well as Swedish, being German, English,
Italian, Spanish and French.
Whilst the game is noted for
its "philosophical and religious depth" it is legendary,
perhaps notorious even, for its controversial content and
most certainly, when the Artist created works for the
series it was the most visually controversial series of
works he had ever embarked upon.
