was the art director Dom Rodi’s idea that the castle could be made of
organ pipes. I was indeed momentarily seduced by this idea, but whilst
it makes for a really great image, it didn’t relate much to de Camp’s
novel. Well, it was a very fast-moving market back then, and decisions were
often made in nano-seconds and things often got a bit warped under those
