1975, the artist
created it the year before while still studying at St.
Martins School
of Art and indeed, it is one of his very earliest works
created for a
paperback book cover while collaborating with the
legendary art
director Steve Abis at Panther/Mayflower.The storyline is simple enough -
someone has blood that ensures immortality and, not
surprisingly,
others want to own it, because it provides something
they don't possess
and, even less surprisingly, they will stop at nothing
to posses it!Thus - we see an image of an
