"Entwined"
(From
our "Quarterly
Magazine")
She ushers in Imbolc by way of Brigid’s Eve,
which falls the evening before the Festival of Imbolc,
itself.
Her birth place unknown, she is of
Celtic-Irish origin, revered on the Isle of Ireland
and in the wild and beautiful Highlands of Scotland.
Goddess of fire, goddess of water, goddess of
healing wells and in-numerous others.
Brigid is of fiery a temperament and her
name, in translation means “Fiery Arrow,” but despite
this somewhat fearsome vignette, she still visits those
devotees of her’s who suffer in mind, body or spirit or
live a too lowly existence.
To these poor,
benighted folk she offers blessings and succour.
