Our
involvement with Jiri Emmer's Perseus Publishing in the Czech Republic
led to this iconic painting and one to be included in our hardback book
"TIME & AGAIN" which we have begun developing. The painting was
originally created during the 1980's when Peter was deep into his
fantastical period and working full time throughout Europe with small
publishers becoming household names, assisted by Peter's input.
The Robert Asprin novels,
extremely popular in the U.S.A., were a favourite of the Perseus
list of books and Peter enjoyed being exposed to their witty brand of
humour and responded with a goodly number decidedly witty visual
pictures! Bob Asprin wrote some stand alone novels (Cold Cash War,
Tambu and The Bug Wars) and also the Duncan and Mallory Illustrated
stories, but is best known for his charmingly witty fantasy series,
being the Myth Adventures of Aahz and Skeeve. He lived in the French
Quarter of New Orleans.
Sadly, Bob Asprin died on May 22 2008 - a great loss to the genre of fantasy writing.

Dragon images seem always
to sell and Peter has painted a good number which have always been
popular. This green Dragon has committed an indiscretion and a body
lies prone in the doorway, smoke issuing from the toes of its shoes.
This is a picture that Peter had continued to work on and he has just
completed an "improvement" period. Now it is truly "finished" and up on
the Internet and pride of place in our magazine and catalogue.
The working process for
this piece has been interesting to observe, used as a "test bed" for
various techniques, transitioning through a pencil visual (which we'll
be adding to the list of works below at some point) a small colour
"rough" (which is as finely crafted as the larger pieces actually!)
then a medium sized painting which was first created digitally but then
the Artist felt that oil and acrylic really gave it a better textural
quality and so it became a mixed media piece and then finally, some 10
years later, he painted a larger oil and Acrylic entirely organic piece.
Sometimes, an Artist
cannot rest until he is fully complete with an idea that just urges him
to be personally satisfied with it and, now, he can ffinally say he is
"done" with what he has to say on this subject!
Enjoy it on your computer
desktop or on your wall in your living space as a dramatic and superb
quality painting in an equally magnificent unique studio-designed and
made frame - magnificent!
